After Conrad gets dressed, Ian and Daphne give Daisy a new dress, and Daisy hugs Daphne. Bradley makes Demi promise that she’ll do what Conrad wants to avoid becoming a caged girl. Bradley says that he is going to work at Mason’s house in the morning; he can’t stay at the Ivory Estate because Conrad is angry. Demi and Bradley then sneak away to Bradley’s room. He says that Demi will be able to go out and wear color after the wedding, at their honeymoon in St. Lucia, and gives her a pair of Nike sneakers. Demi hugs Bradley and asks him to “take her virginity.” He refuses, explaining that women who don’t bleed on their wedding night are killed. Their bodies are buried in the garden, and their bones decorate the wall in Ian’s office.
Bradley gives Demi a three-month supply of birth control pills and shows her a secret compartment in the shoes to hide the pills in. Demi says that she’ll cut herself in order to bleed on her wedding night and again asks Bradley to have sex with her.
